“Traveling” (February 2010)
Each weekday my mom sends out a daily scripture meditation. Today she wrote about David, who, among other things, contributed many psalms to the Old Testament. David’s psalms are a record of his life, the times he was in perfect relationship with God, the times he was walking in sin. It’s interesting that in his writing he both celebrated his many victories and copped to his crimes (such as his affair with Bathsheba and consequent murder of her husband). His honesty left us all a powerful lesson about forgiveness, about mercy, about humbling ourselves enough to say–man, I screwed up and how!
To quote my mom, “What type of message are you writing with your life? What memoirs are you leaving behind to the people who know you at different stages of your life?”
